Etant donné que la Royal Navy n'a pas eu d' Harrier GR.3,quand est-il de celui là? Inscription de la Royal Navy sur la dérive

Pourraît-il s'agir d'un des GR.3 ayant servi durant la "Guerre des Malouines"?

Une simple recherche sur le site te dira qu'il s'agit d'un avion destiné à l'entrainement des pompiers de la base de Yeovilton (Yeovilton est une RNAS).

Il à simplement été taggé.

Seuls les GR3 du N°1 (Fighter) Squadron de Wittering avaient pris part à la Guerre des Malouines avec les appareils suivants :

XV 762 – 778 – 787 – 789
XW 767 – 919 - 924
XZ 129 – 132 – 133 - 963 – 972 – 988 – 989 – 992 – 997


Celui de ta photo est le XW 630 dont voici la carrière (de la RAF, il est passé à la RN – Aircrew Engineering School de Gosport, puis au Museum de Lee on Solent, puis à Yeovilton RNAS) :

Info : HMS Sultan is the home of Royal Naval School of Marine Engineering (RNSME) and the Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival School (RNAESS) whose primary function is to supply the Fleet with engineering Officers and Ratings of the highest quality. The sheer size of the organisation generates spare training capacity that is sold on to foreign Navies and British industry in the form of bespoke courses and apprenticeships.
Also housed at HMS Sultan is the Admiralty Interview Board, the instrument of Officer selection for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines; the Central Air and Admiralty Medical Board (CAAMB); the Naval Aircrew Advisory Board (NAAB) and NMA's Centurion Building. HMS Sultan also provides the RN's survival, ship husbandry and environmental training. Using the most modern training facilities and procedures, we prepare our men and women to operate and maintain the extensive and highly sophisticated range of machinery and equipment found in our ships, submarines and aircraft.

Non ! Dieu merci, mon Ruinart préféré, j’ai encore les moyens de me l’offrir…

Depuis un temps certain j’achète de moins en moins de livre Aviation. Je suis extrêmement sélectif en ne m’intéressant qu’à des sujets bien précis et peu populaires comme ces 3 récemment acquis à prix réduits chez MotorBook à Covent garden.

Par contre je grossis ma bibliothèque Marine Ancienne lentement mais sûrement. Heureusement que sur le sujet il est beaucoup plus facile d’être sélectif et pointilleux sur les choix.
