The F-86 could out-turn the Gnat in the horizontal plane. It was in the Vertical plane that the Gnat proved more powerful and was able to beat the F-86. Indian pilots who engaged in a turning fight with PAF F-86s were shot down as F-86s were able to get behind the Gnat's Six.
