Mirage F1 pylon weight data ?

Il y a largement assez de place pour tout loger en vrac, et faire en sorte que les mouvements de toutes ces douilles lors des évolutions du vecteur ne viennent pas perturber outre mesure l'éjection des douilles suivantes. On ne peut bien évidemment pas écarter tout risque à ce sujet (les bourrages maillons, ça existe aussi), mais il va de soit qu'un défaut aussi rédhibitoire qu'un enrayement quasi-systématique aurait rapidement sonné le glas de la récupération des douilles au profit d'une éjection pure et simple hors de l'appareil.

Can the pilot select either the left or right cannon ( on F1C & E's ) or are they always fired together ? Have no clear info on that topic.

CC-420 pod, how much ammo is carried ? I have found several values, ranging from 160 to 260.. ?

From Jane's Air-Launched Weapons #38 (2002):

There are two versions of the pod; one contains 180 rounds of ammunition and the other 250 rounds.
The space for the additional ammunition is obtained by not retaining the spent cases and links.
The CC 420 pod is 4.20 m long, has a body diameter of 420 mm and weighs 120 kg when empty (no cannon or ammunition).
When loaded with 180 rounds and cannon, the weight is 300 kg and with 250 rounds this increases to 325 kg.

From "Mirage F1 (Volume 2)" (2007), de Michel Liebert & Sébastien Buyck (ISBN 2-914017-41-3):

"(...) il est équipé du canon Defa 553 du monoplace et il reçoit 180 obus si les douilles sont récuperées et 250 au cas contraire. Il pèse 350 kg avec 250 obus et 317 kg avec 180 obus; sa longueur est 4,42 m et son diamètre est de 0,46 m. Sous fuselage son domaine d'emport est de 700 nd/M 2 et le tir peut s'effectuer jusqu'à M 1,8."

Jane's figures are close but not as accurate, as usual.

It's also said: "(...) Il a été commandé à une cinquantaine d'exemplaire par les pays possédant des biplaces, à l'exception de la France."
