J'ai lu la partie concernant l'aviation égyptienne et l'Iran
La structure retenue pour l'Egypte est la suivante
1) présentation des achats par ordre chronologique
2) La crise de Suez
3) la guerre des six jours
4) La guerre d'attrition
5) Yom Kippur war
6) Les luttes fratricides
7) Listing récapitulatif des avions employés .

Vu le format du livre, il ne faut pas s'attendre à des opérations détaillées pour les points 2 à 6 . Le traitement des points 2 à 4 est honnête mais j'ai été vraiment déçu en lisant la partie concernant le Yom Kippur. Evoquer ce conflit sans au moins citer le nom d'un pilote de Mig-21 est un peu limite. On a droit uniquement à des généralités et concernant les pertes égyptiennes seules celles des Su-7 sont mentionnées explicitement dans le livre. A la décharge de Gordon, Cooper ne donne pas non plus de pertes pour les mig 21 dans son Osprey mais à le mérite de mentionner quelques pilotes qui se sont illustrés Pour le listing récapitulatif , on est très loin du suivi des avions anglo-saxon,beaucoup trop de zones d'ombres persistent.

Pour l'Iran , peu d'opérationnel ,ce qui est logique vu que les avions russes sont arrivés après le conflit Iran-Irak mais le sort des avions reçus d'Irak et achetés en Russie est un peu mieux connu

Enfin la mise en page c'est toujours du grand n'importe quoi. Une photo est la pour illustrer le texte,.Cela semble echaper à Hikoki. Quoi de plus désagréable de lire la partie sur le yum kippur illustrée par les avions de transport antonov. Autre lacune ,aucune photo ne montre un mig-19 égyptien, on a seulement des images pour le F-6.

J'ai lu la partie sur l'irak.

Concernant la guerre Iran-irak, on a une bonne idée des pertes de l'aviation irakienne.

50 mig 21
Environ 50 Mig 23 ,la plupart au cours des premiers mois
64 Su-20

Par contre les irakiens ne reconnaisent que 1 Mig 25 Ps et trois mig 25 RB

J'ai été surpris de lire que le mig 23 avait disposé de l'exocet
ce qui semble exact

Mais le plus gros mig-25 killer serait le tornado. Pas mal ont sauté sur des mines largées par les GR.4. A noter la grosse faute de Gordon car les GR.4 ne volent qu'en 97

Talking about the fact that things "it was in Iraq during the invasion" crept a lot of doubt about all publications and news releases. It is an attempt to give a balanced, objective and reasonable (as possible) an analysis of the air battle in the Gulf, to correct the many man-made myths and see the real success of Iraqi air defense and air force during the conflict. For him, this full day of events - January 19 - began with reports that a group of enemy aircraft approaching the air base of Al-Waleed better known in the West as a base NC. This important airfield served as the center of the 2nd Iraqi air defense sector operations (2nd Iraqi AD SOC), manages all of the air defense forces in the western part of the country. In United State of American the battle is described somewhat differently (kind of mythology). It states that on January 19 had been shot down two MiG-29 (one - Rodriguez, the second - Underhill). However, the Iraqi Air Force documents provide irrefutable evidence that the day was lost only one of this type of aircraft, The reason is that Rodriguez and Underhill mistakenly thought if they were attacked by two different "MiG", in fact, they fired missiles at one and the same plane. L'histoire du mig 29 qui descend un ids est confirmée par Y Gordon sauf que lui appelle le pilote Sayhood

Le team ACIG, lire les notes de bas de page, dit que les pilotes Irakiens sont frustrés de n'avoir revendiqué aucun avion us. Le Mig-25 est l'exception qui confirme la règle

Pour ce qui concerne les combats aériens au-dessus de l'irak en 91.
Les deux Fanas de janvier et février 2012 constituent une bonne doc pour un cout raisonnable. Les signataires de l'article sont un général irakien et Tom Cooper.

Le seul mig-29 dont on parle aurait endommagé un F-111. Le Mig 25 reste le seul a avoir obtenu une victoire confirmée
