Hi Everyone,
As out FS9 pilots know we like to let you know what's happening, what we are adding and what we are fixing. Now the only thing that can't be set in tablets of stone is the time to release this update. I will speak more about that at the end of the post.
Last night the internal test team for their first look at the changes for the SP and below is a list of the current fixes.
1. The iFly menu can't display in full screen mode.
2. Add more options in the style menu.
3. Plane will slow down to catch waypoint speed constraint even 320nm away.
4. The DU may display spoilers position incorrectly when all hydraulic off.
5. NO Wind Sound, no touchdown sound.
6. Set the limitation of fltsim from 99 to 999.
7. MCP heading knob can't set the required direction.
8. The arc of route line is now change dynamic.
9. When load a flightplan, the heading of conditional waypoint may load incorrectly.
10.Pressing CLR on CDU often deletes 2 characters.
11.Calculated GW (and ref speeds) on APPR REF page should update when CDU is left on APP page.
12.Some minor bugs in the model
13.The MCP buttons will illuminate and only illuminate for the armed modes that have been selected by the pilots.
14. Autobrake 3 disarmed on landing.
What is not mention here is the work on the frame rate issue. The developer has told me they have update the model with some great advice from other developers and are seeing a significant improvement in frame rates, with no loss in quality. I expect the test team to get the model for one of the aircraft shortly for testing and we expect to have the complete package within 7 days.
As you can see when have added more functions to the Config tool which will allow the joysticks and throttles to be disabled when the autopilot is in control and in the screen show below you can see some of the other changes.
I have now locked the VC mouse topic as we have talked the issue to death. We can debate for ever the issues concerned and what people believe or do not. What is important the SP will go someway to improving the frame rates for every users and will reduce the effect of the mouse issue for most.
If all goes well we may have the SP fully reading in the next 10-14 days. As I have already stated the team have the fixes to test at the moment and that will be followed by the model. At this point our Gift of Sight users and some of the people that have been helping with VC testing will get the package to test and we can get their impression of the changes and improvements made. A lot of the changes made here have been made from your suggestions and will be carried forward to the FS9 version where applicable.
So please be patient we are working as hard and as fast as possible to get this update to you. If you have made suggestions that are not included in this version do not worry we are listening as we work towards the feature pack. The main focus of this SP was to address issues.
