Landing speeds:

Gear down at 2 mile before glidepath interception. When you are at 1500ft and you have a glideslope of 3 degrees, most of the time you will start to descent at 4 miles (nautical), so at 6 miles you will lower the gear. My rule: be ready at 10 miles! That means: right speed, knowing the weather conditions etc. so you are completely prepared to lower gear at 6. The speeds can vary according to IFR, but 230 is very nice. Not 225 or 235; 230! So speed 230kts, at 10 miles you know everthing for the approach, at 6 gear down, little trimming on AOA, not G’s. Because you didn’t touch the throttle you will automatically reach a speed of 160kts. If you have a normal amount of fuel (2500lbs) with pylontanks (empty) and missiles and/or launchers on 1,2, 8 and 9, the fuelflow will be somewhere around 3300 lbs/hr. At glidepath intercept open the speedbrakes. Now reduce speed to 11 degrees AOA. Just in the (very carefull) flare let the AOA reach 13 degrees. Aerodynamic braking is possible until 90 to 80 kts, but not everybody thinks that’s a good thing because you can not really control the nose going down, so there is a chance it will hit the runway to hard.
