As for the delay, we've run into pretty bad unexpected issues - but we're fixing them. We're in beta now after a very long time working on these issues. Now we have a rather long list of very little things to fix, and they are getting fixed at a rapid rate. The game is looking great.
GMX Media can only convey to you, what we (Shockwave) convey to them. The last two months have been like this: fix one thing, break three. Use that formula and understand how it can turn into a runaway train. The end result is we've had to write large portions of code from scratch, and there is no quick and fast way to do that. These decisions only came after a lot of playing and tweaking Rowan's original code.
The good news is the game will have far less of the old technology in it than we had anticipated in the beginning. You have to also keep in mind this is not a 2 year development, it's 6 months. I think people will be very pleasantly surprised what we've accomplished in this time.
Scott.
